The Power of Catholic Schools

And people ask why I wrote this book:

Designed to Fail: Catholic Education in America

Sadly, those comments are fairly typical of the average teenage Catholic school student. Of course, most of those kids were Protestants and/or atheists, so you wouldn't expect them to know or care what Catholicism is. But the Catholic kids ought to know. It's too bad Catholic schools don't teach Catechism any more. It used to be that adult Catholics coasted through life with an eighth-grade understanding of Catholicism. Now, because they are catechised (or if they are, not very well) they're limping through life with a kindergartener's understanding of Catholicism. (Which is probably where all those professed atheist teens in that video came from.)
