The Failure of Renewables

 "An official with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas said Tuesday afternoon that 16 gigawatts of renewable energy generation, mostly wind generation, were offline. Nearly double that, 30 gigawatts, had been lost from thermal sources, which includes gas, coal and nuclear energy."  Texas Tribune, 2/16/2021

So, 1/3rd of the energy loss was from renewables, 2/3rds from standard sources.

Standard sources failed due to lack of weatherizing pumps, i.e., a maintenance issue.  That failure is fixable.

Renewables failed because of the nature of renewables - the wind didn't blow.
That failure is not fixable. 

Green energy cannot do what liberals say it can do.
Either:

1. we get more nuclear and get better maintenance on power transmission equipment or 
2. we get used to freezing to death. 

There is no third option.
