They are simply contracts that outline rights and responsibilities. They are principally economic. So my wife's aunt and her brother, my wife's uncle who lived together all their lives and shared a home should be able to get a "civil union" and get the visitation rights, property rights and everything else associated with civil marriage without the baggage of the word "marriage".<br /><br />I'm all for the state getting out of the marriage business and keeping their noses out of my sacraments.Tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00508595582393301733noreply@blogger.com
