How she views Catholics is an open question, but it certainly can't be any worse than Pelosi, and we have evidence that she's actually a better Catholic than any of her Catholic-schooled counterparts in high office at the moment.Steve Kellmeyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07509461318016670424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5774317.post-75704606387000582132010-04-08T15:18:48.953-05:002010-04-08T15:18:48.953-05:00I thought was Palin born Catholic, left and joined...I thought was Palin born Catholic, left and joined some Protestant sect? This makes her okay in my book. She can disagree with my Church's doctrine, and even refer to the Church as the "Whore of Babalon". This is the true meaning of separation of church and state.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5774317.post-9713961754400900792009-11-23T13:15:54.495-06:002009-11-23T13:15:54.495-06:00I was under the impression the liberal Catholics c...I was under the impression the liberal Catholics constituted the bulk of the Catholic vote.

Newspapers' decline is giving the government the excuse to take them over.Brendanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15123119830359717991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5774317.post-20200512170513763142009-11-22T22:52:44.140-06:002009-11-22T22:52:44.140-06:00Yes, you are absolutely right, Matheus. They tried...Yes, you are absolutely right, Matheus. They tried pulling a similar stunt with Palin's pregnant daughter - using that to drive a wedge.

As with Palin's daughter, however, orthodox Catholics know who their friends are. The ad hominem attacks (and that's what the Bachman attack would be) really don't work with orthodox Catholics precisely because an orthodox Catholic is necessarily a thinking, logically consistent individual.

Take, for instance, my riffs on West, Monaghan and Shea. I've nailed them on logical inconsistencies in their positions. They and their supporters try to pretend it's ad hominem, but orthodox Catholics know it isn't. Good Catholics see the problems with these guys.

Bachman has nothing to fear from decent Catholics who know their stuff. It's the mushy-headed Catholics who will be easily herded.

But even there, the impact is going downhill. Newspapers are now dying at a rate of 10% every six months. They may not exist in any serious form by the time the 2012 elections hit.Steve Kellmeyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07509461318016670424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5774317.post-81354410836317649502009-11-22T05:59:15.111-06:002009-11-22T05:59:15.111-06:00Please don't get me wrong, Steve.
